Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head

As I prepare for this week of incessant precipitation, my mind is clustered with versatile pieces for these dreary days. The #1 piece on my list for any rainy day is a loose tee, preferably gray! A loose top is always lovely on a wet morning. Hunters, are my go-to for any time I can expect puddles, paired with a similar colored, structured leather tote. A new-style trench, like this one from DKNYC, is also ideal for the sunless Saturdays. These signature pieces coupled with a slouchy, distressed jean or midi pencil skirt make for the perfect rainy day ensemble.

Sunday's Pretty Icons: Ulyana Sergeeko

Ulyana Sergeenko is a real lady in green . . . and white . . . and red . . . and any color she dons! The Russian stylist, designer, photographer and blogger is well-known around the runway world. Her style is a constant reminder of a mother on her way out the door to the neighborhood cocktail party or a night at the theater. As she dabs at the corner of her mouth for any lipstick mishaps, she is out in a hurry and leaves a trail of fabulousity in her wake.

Her floor-sweeping hemlines and dramatic headgear is nothing short of poetic. Even in jeans, Sergeeko is my ideal dress-up partner. Ulyana Sergeeko reminds me that fashion is fun, never stuffy or boring; it is repetitively ageless. For my own sake, I hope Mrs. Sergeeko stays in her stylish spotlight; she is an icon in its truest - most elegant - form.

Mansur Gavriel has certainly made a name them self yet again with their fiercely sleek bucket bag. This bag of the season has caught the eye of several fashion bloggers and many celebs (Olivia Palermo stated it as this season's must have). I happen to agree with Ms. Palermo; the effortless shape and chic interior has caused quite the stir for not only Mansur Gavriel, but for the many brands who have picked up the same trending silhouette. Pair this classy bag with some fancy springtime flats and you'll be the cutest one at brunch.
