A Single Rose and a Pair of Kicks

Bagatelle Leather, Forever 21 Fireside Plaid Shirt, South of SoHo Graphic Muscle Tee (similar cuties here and here), F21 LeggingsWhite All-Star Converse, Vintage Crossbody (similar Tory Burch here), Black Wayfarers

With my hair still in its (now messy) updo, I decided to keep the rest of my outfit calm. The relaxed leggings and tee make me feel at home while the chained crossbody and Ray Bans give me an added glam. My rose is from the lovely bouquet I received after being crowned last night (as seen here).

Magnificent Monday

Spending a day in NYC; visiting the 9/11 Memorial, seeing Motown the Musical (which was STUNNING), and eating at delicious corner delis

(Pictured between us is our childhood voice teacher)

Being crowned Miss Jabberwock 2014! (A scholarship pageant hosted by my mom's sorority)

. . . I could really get used to this Queen life :)

I've Never Seen a Diamond in the Flesh

Zara Jewel Print Dress (old),  Forever 21 Crossbody (adorable look alike here), BCBG Cielo Pumps, Bagatelle Leather Jacket

"Luxury is the ease of a t-shirt in a very expensive dress." ~ Karl Lagerfeld
Regardless the day or event, sometimes you just gotta throw on a dress and some heels to make it through. This ensemble was my saving grace this past Saturday. Two fashion shows, a doctor's appointment and constant running around, but not once that day was I disappointed in my clothing choices. Dressy enough (no pun intended) for the fashion show, and casual enough with the leather jacket and crossbody for other errands.

Friendly Friday

Urban Outfitters Embroidered Poncho (similar here), H&M Jeans, Urban Outfitters Crossbody, Distressed Leather Booties (similar here  and loving these)

I believe it was this very outfit that spoke life unto the grueling winter winds and offset the true feelings of Spring. From the soft lace to the trending fringes . . . and those booties! #toocute
Lexi's outfit is a great transitioner; the subtle beige of the poncho is pastel enough for spring, while the camel bootie makes the outfit warm enough for mild winter temps. Both these pieces are accented nicely against the light denim jean and gold-hardware of the crossbody.

P.S. Lexi's style sister is somewhere between Alessandra Ambrosio and Julianne Hough's street style; girly, relaxed always with a splash of festival.

Gingham in the Snow

There's just something about men's dress shirts that I absolutely love. Debonair on a fella and downright lush on a lady. The menswear for women trend is definitely one for the books because from this look to women donning a complete tux, menswear seems to have been made for the incorrect sex. Whether the cut is made to be more feminine (as Angelina Jolie's was here at the BAFTAs) or if the natural men's cut is feminized with a long chain and stacked bracelets (as Mary-Kate so effortlessly does here), the menswear-for-women look is sultry and always charming.
. . . and doesn't the snow create a beautiful backdrop?

Zig Zags and Leather Boots

Zara Simple Tee, American Eagle Bodycon SkirtGrey Patent Leather Dr. Martens, Bagatelle Leather Jacket, Target Ombre Scarf, Glasses from Canal Street

love this skirt! While stripes are never disappointing, these zig-zags take the cake! For today's look, I wanted something girly with a pinch of biker, so the leather jacket and Doc Martens really fit the bill . . . and who doesn't love some huge glasses to top it off? (The answer is my mom!)

Loving: Self-Portrait

Finding a new brand to fall in love with is like stumbling upon a bed of flowers in the middle of the desert. Self-Portrait is that bed of flowers.
My first glimpse into the stunning silhouettes and signature flares of Self-Portrait was on Cupcakes and Cashmere (one of my favorite blogs) in yesterday's outfit post

The mixed print reminds me of Clover Canyon's trademark fused patterns and colors. The femininity of the dress calls to mind the geometrically tender bodices of BCBG.

Here are a few other dresses from Self-Portrait Studio I'm head-over-heels for

Black, White and Grey All Over

H&M Colorblock Blazer (old - similar here at Macy's), PINK Boyfriend Racerback Tank, Urban Outfitters Lily Lace Bandeau, Grey Knee-High Boots (last seen here)

Some days a blazer and some tall boots are all I need; just pin back my hair and keep it moving! . . . today was definitely one of those days. The weather's fickle mind allows these jacketless days to be easy in picking out my daily wardrobe.

What Season is This?

As the temperature continues on with its fickle attitude and I live in my gloves,
I'll stand in the snow and wait
for the long days and summer nights,
the high temps and short shorts!
