Friendly Friday: 34

If you can't tell, this chick is the definition of bad. Her style is a reincarnation of Aaliyah (Tommy Hil days), mixed with Rihanna street style . . . oh, and she is the lady yin to A$AP Rocky's yang. You can almost always catch her in her Timbs, and a gold chain hanging from her neck - or her ears, tonight! And while this is a more casual look for her, she always knows how to pull it together. My ride or Di-amond, I love this girl and I love that she can throw on a paper bag and still look beyond . . . that ability to wear anything and still rock it comes from her ambitious attitude and fascination with fashion.
A fashion warrior in it's truest form; Diamond doesn't try to fit anyone's mold with the way she dresses because she's already mastered her own art of style. She knows who she is through fashion and she isn't afraid to show you.

Friendly Friday: Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Blue, Blue!

Abercrombie Leanne Sweater, Abercrombie Floral Scarf (cute similars here and here), American Eagle Skinnies, Classic Navy TOMS

From the cropped fit of the Navy sweater to the tiny accent of the cream braided headband and the layers of the gorgeous Dodger blue flowers this outfit screams "color palette perfection!" I love that each special hue is played up in this outfit. Although the sweater and Toms share color similarity, it's the rest of the blue hues that bring out the singularity of the ensemble - also, the model's adorable smile and low pony certainly doesn't hurt!
Not only this setup, but every day is a fashion adventure with Abbey. She definitely knows how to create a killer color scheme as she adds in a surprise tone to a monochromatic ensemble - this one being the creamy white in the headband and the scarf.
P.S. If Grace Kelly's street style were modernized, Abbey would definitely be her style sister. Effortless, graceful and polished.

All Around The Globes!

Now that a week has passed, opinions have leveled-out and we've all had a minute to catch our breath, let's talk about the Globes!
Besides Autumn, Award Season is definitely my favorite! From the movie uproar to the gowns - oh, how I love the gowns!
This year was exciting as always, and while I wasn't thrilled with everyone's dressing choice, I did appreciate many of them.

First, we have (one of my personal favorites) Hailee Steinfeld at the Netflix after party in an Andrew Gn number. I adore Hailee's supreme awareness of not only what looks stunning on her shape, but also her ago and her desire to remain clothed within that age. Never does Steinfeld look too mature or too young; it's always just right, and this gown is a perfect example of that.
Next, on the other end of the black and gold spectrum is Monica Potter. I may have a swayed sense of likeness for this dress just because of my love for Mrs Potter (you should understand if you watch Parenthood!) but I like it nonetheless. The color looks great against her skin complexion and the neckline of the dress really brings out the fabulousness of her updo.
Kate Beckinsale blows my mind; she wears the same mermaid silhouette each time she walks the red carpet, but she never fails to make it look like something we haven't seen before. Beckinsale wore this Zuhair Murad strapless gown to the globes - one very similar to Sofia Vergara's InStyle after party gown by the same designer.
Naomi Watt's also stuns in her form-fitting Tom Ford ensemble. The cut outs on the side are so simple, yet the small slits take the gown from something simple to something very new.

Now to my favorites!

This high-low trend has been everywhere for the past two years . . . but I have never seen this asymmetrical style done so elegantly and with such class as these. In my opinion it's the dramatic pleats and powder blue on Caitlin Fitzgerald's dress that makes hers' one to remember. Fitzgerald's short chops look great along her mock neckline.
Michelle Dockery really owns the carpet in this Oscar de la Renta piece. This soft neutral tones of this ladylike gown and simple cut to the top make the dress one of my favorites.
Yes. Yes. Yes all over these two! Newcomers Margot Robbie and Lupita Nyong'o (who I've mentioned my admiration for before) really hit glamour on the head right here. The split in Margot's Gucci gown, although rising up near her hip, is the most demure and appears to be almost modest. The accented emerald jewels and (hidden) gem-tone peep-toed pumps add the perfect amount of color to her cream dress.
Lupita has done it again. I'm not the only one who has been obsessing over Nyong'o's style, but this Ralph Lauren sums up the entire Lupita craze. From the incredible color to the off-the-shoulder draping, this dress is like nothing we've seen in a long time. The brilliance of this red against the richness of her skin tone really brings something new to the award table. Thumbs up, Lupita!

And last, but certainly not least, is my personal favorite, Cate Blanchett in this lace Armani Couture mermaid gown. Blanchett really put herself back on the map with this piece. The patterned lace is so beautiful on it's own . . . then Armani adds in the sleek design of the capped sleeves, the drama of the neckline, and then the fanning bottom. All these things add up to making (in my opinion) the most fabulous dress on the carpet last Sunday.

Sweater Weather

Hollister Open-Front Swing Sweater, Silver-Plated Belt from South of SoHo Boutique (similar at ASOS), Forever 21 TankH&M Leggings, Gray Faux Leather Knee-Length Boots (gifted; similar here), Deena & Ozzy Embroidered Animal Clutch

These record-breaking temperatures have got me breaking out any and every sweater I can find, but for the past few weeks I've been gravitating more and more to this one from Hollister that I received for Christmas. I love the easy swing to it, but switching it up with knee-high boots and a belt - a silver-plated belt, no less - adds a new element of drama and sophistication to an everyday outfit.

Winter Whites

Amid the nightly hot cocoa sessions, my latest obsession with my gym, Netflix, and winter-scented candles, and practically living in the warmth of my bed, I've found inspiration in these beautiful winter whites!
