Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head

I've been after this crop top since November of last year, but for some odd reason just got around to purchasing it this Monday while in NYC with a few girlfriends (photos coming soon)! I love how functional and minimalist it is; it can be dressed up or dressed down and I definitely look forward to doing both! Another great find was this pair of harem pants from Forever 21! It was a leap of great fashion-faith to buy these and even more of a leap to be seen in public in them. For the longest time, I thought that only certain figures could properly pull of the aesthetic of harem pants . . . either my presumptions were wrong or I am that certain figure, because I love these and have gotten many compliments on them.

Nautical Tuesdays

I love the nautical look and was so excited when a friend of mine (Ali - featured here) loaned me her lovely sailor shorts. I struggled for a couple of days to figure what to pair it with, but finally stumbled upon a nautically striped tank. The heat rose and rose . . . and rose today, but the white denim jacket was a parfect and simple addition to complete the look.

Weekend Forecast: Crop Tea

Crop tops seem to be all the rage this summer , and have been since 2010. Usually paired with a maxi skirt or high-waisted jeans or shorts, I've recently seen these crop tops popping up in a new way:

with a full tea-length skirt!

. . . hence "Crop Tea" :)

I ADORE this new trend. The full tea-length skirts make it look chic and sophisticated while the crop top grabs the touch of youth and edge to a usually fully-polished outfit. In each of the photos above, the trend is completed with a subtle ankle-strap sandal heel; a cute yet elegant shoe to finish it off!

This trend is certainly one to try - one that I will definitely be trying a lot of this summer.

Although Chloé's "Susanna" Booties came out during their 2008 Fall Season, they are still the rage today!

Many celebrities have been seen in recent months sporting the same booties in their Spring/Summer wardrobe.

A (Father's) Day Late and a Dollar Short

Yesterday was Father's Day, and to celebrate, we (my momma and my little brother, Cameron) took my dad 45 minutes away to the nearest location of his favorite restaurant: Waffle House!

Whenever on vacation - specifically somewhere south - my dad makes it a point to eat at any and every Waffle House he can find. Going there yesterday made him so happy, and I love that jovial nature he has when I know he's truly enjoying himself.

Dressing up my friends is always a sure sign for a fun time . . . dressing up my stunning friend, Ali, is not only incredibly fun, but also a weekly adventure! She has a great athletic body and considering the fact that we both are the same size in everything, our clothes swapping is a regular occurrence. I love dressing Ali and I love dressing up in her great collection of clothes too!

I love love love maxi dresses, and this morning it was the perfect go-to on this rainy day! This navy maxi is perfect for days like today when all I did was take tests, hide from the rain and grab a milkshake with a few girlfriends. It's simple and comfortable and can still be dressed up to look cute!

...even though this dress made today's flash floods tolerable, Rain, I am asking you to please leave. I miss the sun!

M-dismal Mondays

Okay, I know dismal doesn't begin with an 'm'...but today it does!

This weekend was full of stress, strenuous fun and long hours! A confusing yet adventurous trip to the movies on Friday, two parties on Saturday and hosting a fundraiser all day Sunday all the while prepping for finals this week... I was busy to say the VERY least.

There were a few peaks of sunshine throughout though - I mean this figuratively!

Stops at my new favorite spot: Latteria!! The BEST (creamcheese-vanilla) milkshake I have EVER had! Delectable organic frozen dairy treats AND a lovely stock of jewelry and other adorable knick-knacks, this is a perfect set up for an hour (or more) of downtime with my girlfriends.

Fun times with fab friends at the second graduation party of the season...many more to come!
